Life in UTM

University Technology Malaysia(UTM), name of a finest chapter in my life. Last year September, 2019, I got admitted to UTM in Computer Science Engineering (Software Engineering). Because of delay in VISA processing, I couldn't reach in Malaysia within the due date. So I couldn't join the bridging program. The staffs and officials are so friendly and co-operative that they suggested me to take an ESL course outside of UTM to extend and process my study VISA. This was my very first time to study on an overseas University.

First Day in Malaysia
When I entered Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I was welcomed by my cousins who were studying in Kuala Lumpur since 2-3 years. So it was not difficult for me to settle myself in Malaysia. We hired a SOCAR and went to UTM Campus, Johor Bahru. It took 3 hours to travel 350KM. We reached UTM in the morning and went to the Student Admission Division for all paper works. I completed the registration at the office and in the meantime booked an AIRBNB for our stay. The Airbnb apartment was 40 km from the UTM campus. After reaching the apartment, I freshen up and started looking for an apartment to rent. Though UTM has many residences or hostels nearby or within the campus but I was determined to stay in a studio apartment outside the Campus.

Second Day in Malaysia
On the second day, I booked appointment with some agents who showed me some apartments. I found "Johor Bahru The Garden Residences" quite beautiful and comfortable. Also, it's not very far from UTM campus. So I instantly agreed upon a 1 year contact with the Landlord.

Johor Bahru The Garden Residences

The residence consists of 4 Blocks i.e, Block A, Block B, Block C and Block D. My apartment is in Block C. The apartment is a partial furnished apartment with No TV and Washing Machine. I had to buy washing machine, TV and some other household item afterwards. The apartment got a very beautiful view from it's balcony. All features were available including swimming pool, GYM, play ground, Tennis ground, Lift and parking garage.

Settling myself with the environment
The weather of Malaysia is a very charming one with sudden rains and clouds. So I could easily suit with the weather. People in Malaysia generally use Malay so it was tough at the beginning to understand their language. But gradually I started understanding some of the words and as most of the people in there knows English well so it became a medium of my interaction with others. Soon, I bought a car to manage the distance of my campus from my apartment. Alhamdulillah, within 2 months of my arrival, I settle down in Johor Bahru very well.

Places that I visited in Malaysia
